My Mission's Trip Assessment

In the months of June through July of 2023, during my recent missions to many of these African countries, Nigeria, Abuja, Accra, Ghana, and Benin, I visited orphanage homes, local clinics, schools, villages, towns, and cities,  I have listened to less fortunate men, women, and especially the innocent children speak about the devastating impact of hunger, conflict, and violence on their lives. And they are not alone. According to most recent statistics, today two billion people are affected by fragility, conflict, or violence, and by 2030, half of these people will live in extreme poverty.

Last year a record number, 68.5 million people, were displaced due to violence and conflict. 120 million people worldwide depend on humanitarian assistance.
If it is true that overall the world population is healthier, wealthier, and better connected, we also have some hundreds of conflicts beyond fragility with massive impacts on people, systems, neighboring countries, and the international community.
