HOW WE GOT STARTED

When the civil wars engulfed Liberia In December 1989, It left all social, economic, and spiritual institutions necessary for the enhancement of basic human needs ruined, and resulted in the severe killing of civilians, especially the poor innocent children and women in general.

In September of 1990, the United Nations shipped relief supplies of food to help the Liberian war victims.  A group of volunteered pastors, ministers, doctors, and nurses including some volunteered men and women organized themselves to work along with the Baptist Relief and the Catholic Relief Services in the distribution of emergency food supplies in Liberia, and it was out of these selfless humanitarian services amid bullets, during the heat of the Liberian civil conflict which killed over 200 thousands of innocent people and estimated about 250 thousands were displaced in neighboring countries, that these volunteered men and women decided to organize the Concern Mission International originally called "Concern for the World Mission

1991 Concern Missional International was legally registered, and licensed as a non-governmental organization in Liberia, and incorporated in the United States as a not-for-profit Christian humanitarian organization in October 2005.  Concern Mission International has extended its work to most countries identifying with suffering people, helping to meet needs, and preaching the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

     Sustainable  Education and Development Goals

An estimated 220 million children in our world today are without adequate care. In identifying with these needy children, we provide holistic support and high-quality services in 13 countries.  We have measured the impact of our services through interviews with 3,450 individuals from 37 countries whom we supported in the past.

The results show that, with the support of Concern Mission most of these individuals have significantly improved their chances of happiness in life and can contribute positively to their communities.  Our impact on people’s lives, especially for women and children has been only possible because of the many people who care and who support our organization.

Success in life begins with a quality education. And yet, millions of children and youth lack the support they need to strengthen their literacy, stay on track in school, graduate high school, and find a career.

Everyday life is a learning experience for children. Concern Mission Children Rehabilitation Education Enrichment Program helps families turn everyday moments into fun learning opportunities and provides tools to help United Ways advance childhood success strategies.
